ABOUT ME

I took the name Jack Fluck long ago for all my occupational and creative activities and it’s how everybody knows me.
I have extensive working experience in fields like Sales, Professional Photography and as a Tourist Guide, mainly in Iceland, The Baltic Area and Lebanon.

I speak four languages fluently: Italian, English, Spanish and Portuguese, with a reasonable knowledge of French and a little Japanese.

I studied Japanese Language and Culture at Ca’Foscari University in Vence (Italy).

I have travelled through almost all Europe, North America (U.S.A., Canada and Mexico), Africa (Mozambique, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Somalia, Rwanda, Morocco and Egypt), Middle East (Lebanon and Syria) and Asia (Pakistan, Afghanistan, Thailand, Hong-Kong and Japan) both for personal as workrelated reasons, where I gathered many experiences in cultures, languages and social behavior in different countries.

I am interested in literature, movies and Roleplaying as well as travels, Survivalism and Self Defense, I also have a passion for cooking, DIY and sailing.

WORK EXPERIENCE

2018-today. Adventure Guide for the Spanish company Tierras Polares mainly in Iceland where I take Spanish, Italian and Portuguese-speaking tourists around the island both in winter and in summer.

2010-2018. Freelance Professional Photographer in Madrid, working for the ABC Newspaper, the Hello Agency and countless venues both as the official photographer for the event or for independent exhibitors. My fields of expertise are press, fashion and portrait photography.
During this period I also worked as an English and Italian teacher.

2006-2008. I took a sabbatical in Lebanon where I worked as a Freelance Photographer and Daytours Tourist Guide in the Country and in Syria.

2003-2009. Sales Manager and Marketing Manager at Ibercom (Donostia-San Sebastian, Spain), an Internet Provider now known as MásMóvil.

1994-2003. Founder and CEO of IT Services and Adv. Design Company Cyborg M&A in Donostia-San Sebastian, (Spain).

1991-1994. Graphic Designer and Photographer at Hazzard agency in Venice (Italy).

LICENSES

Driving licenses: all A types, B and D1 with Passenger permit (Spanish C.A.P., European doc. 95). I also have the Food Handler Certificate.

DRIVING

I have experience in off-road driving, winter driving and river crossing on 4WD vehicles and motorcycles.

SAILING

I am an expert in sailing and motor boats as well as kayaks, which I practiced since I was a child, having taken part in several regattas on sailing boats from 29’ to 42’.

ADVENTURE

In my working time as a guide I take the tourists to trekkings, to ice caves, glacier walks, lava tunnels and snowshoeing. I also have some experience in canyoning and speleology.
